The European Large Area Iso Survey: Elais

1 I describe a European collaborative project to survey ∼ 20 square degrees of the sky at 15μm and 90μm with ISO. This is the largest open time project being undertaken by ISO. The depth and areal coverage were designed to complement the various Guaranteed Time surveys. The main science thrust is to explore star formation in galaxies to a much higher redshift than was probed by IRAS. We expect ...

A Wide-area Vla Continuum Survey near the Galactic Center at 6 and 20 Cm Wavelengths

We describe the results of a mJy-sensitivity, VLA survey of roughly 1 square degree near the Galactic center at 6 and 20 cm. Catalogs of compact and filamentary structures are given and compared to previous surveys of the region. Eight of the unusual, nonthermal radio filaments are detected in 6 cm polarized emission; three of these are the first such detections, confirming their nonthermal nat...

A deep VLA survey at 6 cm in the Lockman Hole

We have obtained a deep radio image with the Very Large Array at 6 cm in the Lockman Hole. The noise level in the central part of the field is ∼11 μJy. From these data we have extracted a catalogue of 63 radio sources with a maximum distance of 10 arcmin from the field center and with peak flux density greater than 4.5 times the local rms noise. The differential source counts are in good agreem...
